Pulmonary Medicine

Our pulmonologists treat a wide range of lung diseases that affect breathing. They conduct thorough evaluations, create personalized treatment plans, and manage care to improve lung health. From common respiratory issues to complex conditions, our specialists focus on enhancing your breathing and overall quality of life with expert, patient-centered care.

Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)

Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) is a simple and painless procedure that checks how well your lungs are functioning. During the test, you will be asked to breathe into a special machine that measures the amount of air your lungs can hold and how quickly you can exhale.

Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is a safe and minimally invasive procedure used to examine your airways and lungs. During the test, a thin and flexible tube with a camera at the tip is gently inserted through your nose or mouth into your lungs. This allows our medical team to visualize any abnormalities, collect samples, or remove small foreign objects. It is usually done under sedation to ensure your comfort.

Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)

Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a small ultrasound device at the tip of a flexible tube inserted through your mouth or nose. This allows our medical team to visualize and take images of the airways and nearby lymph nodes in your chest.

Transbronchial Lung Biopsy

During a transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB), a healthcare provider inserts a thin, flexible tube through your mouth or nose into the lungs to collect a small tissue sample. This procedure helps diagnose lung diseases, detect infections, and evaluate lung transplant suitability.

Thoracentesis

During a thoracentesis, a healthcare provider uses a needle to remove excess fluid from the pleural space—the area between your lungs and chest wall. This procedure relieves breathing difficulties caused by fluid buildup and helps improve lung function.

Six-Minute Walk Test

The Six-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) offers a simple and effective way to measure your exercise capacity and endurance. During the test, you walk at your own pace for six minutes along a flat, straight path. Our medical team uses the results to evaluate your cardiovascular and respiratory fitness, track disease progression, and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen therapy delivers a regulated, controlled amount of oxygen to individuals who struggle to breathe or have low blood oxygen levels. Healthcare providers often use this treatment to support patients with respiratory conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and other lung disorders.

Fractional Excretion of Nitric Oxide (FENO)

Fractional Excretion of Nitric Oxide (FENO) is a non-invasive test that measures the level of nitric oxide in your exhaled breath. Since the body produces nitric oxide in the airways and lungs, elevated levels can signal inflammation in the respiratory system. Our medical team uses FENO testing to evaluate airway inflammation and effectively monitor respiratory conditions such as asthma.
